Meet Noel Toms, our newest addition to the Research and Development team at Brandenburg Labs! Noel is a dedicated working student who brings a profound passion for audio technology and music production to our start-up. From an early age, Noel was captivated by the audio engineering field and felt drawn to music and music production, ultimately choosing to follow his calling.
Noel holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Govt. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in media technology at TU Ilmenau. His expertise spans across various areas, including Audio Technology, Music Technology, Signal Processing, and Deep Learning. Working under the guidance of our CEO, Karlheinz Brandenburg, Noel successfully completed his media project on ‘Music Segmentation Using Convolutional Neural Networks’ at Fraunhofer IDMT, Ilmenau.
Within his role as a working student supporting research and projects, Noel appreciates the flexibility that Brandenburg Labs offers. This flexibility enables him to focus on his studies and pursue his passions and hobbies while effectively contributing to his assigned tasks. Noel finds immense value in the energetic and vibrant team dynamic at BLS, fostering an exciting, lively, and friendly office atmosphere.
One of Noel’s remarkable strengths is his ability to be a great team player. His innovative problem-solving approach is well respected. Always driven by curiosity, he eagerly seeks out opportunities to learn and apply new skills. In his quest for growth, Noel aspires to enhance his leadership, communication, and networking skills. He constantly stays updated on business development, management, and promotion techniques to support his music production venture, where he aims to empower emerging artists to create original songs. Striving for perfection in his craft is Noel’s lifelong pursuit.
During his leisure time, Noel loves to immerse himself in captivating books and explore new artists through music. With a deep passion for the industry, Noel is keenly interested in singing, music production, scoring for motion films, and collaborating with musicians from around the globe.
Fun fact: Noel is a die-hard fan of the famous TV series, The Big Bang Theory, having watched it countless times.
