DAGA 2023

Expanding our horizons!

Our team had the pleasure of representing our thriving start-up, Brandenburg Labs, at DAGA 2023, held in Hamburg, Germany, from the 6th – the 9th of March. It is a German Annual Conference on Acoustics, focusing on current developments in the field.

This year’s edition was organized by The German Society for Acoustics (DEGA) and the Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH), with over 1000 participants from all acoustic fields attending the event.

DAGA 2023 was a great opportunity to learn more about the latest advances and current developments in the acoustics field and network with other professionals in the industry. We hope you enjoy reading a recap of our first event attendance of the year and some key takeaways and highlights.

Our colleague Ulrike Sloma delivered a presentation titled: “Proof of concept of a binaural renderer with increased plausibility”. Her talk introduced the basic setup and report on informal and formal testing in Ilmenau, proving that plausible playback via binaural rendering is finally possible. If you didn’t get the chance to attend the discussion, the manuscript of the presentation for the DAGA proceedings will be available later.

The participants raised several intriguing questions during Ulrike’s presentation, facilitating a worthwhile discussion session. Moreover, the event schedule was packed with various exciting talks and sessions on diversified acoustic topics ranging from state-of-the-art to the latest advances in the field.

We welcomed numerous audio enthusiastic visitors at our booth 60 at the DAGA2023. Seeing so many people interested in what we do and how we can help them improve their audio experience over headphones is always great. During our immersive audio demo presentation, we received great feedback from several listeners and exchanged ideas for use cases and applications.

Our team had a lot of fun discussing all things audio with everyone who stopped by our booth, networking, and encountering new and familiar faces and friends.

Thanks to AES Deutschland, our Brandenburg Labs team was part of the get-together with AES Deutschland, and our team enjoyed the social evening, embraced with good company and delicious food to share.

We are grateful for the networking opportunities DAGA2023 offered and look forward to following up with our new connections. We’re already looking forward to next year’s DAGA conference!
