A step-by-step guide to the job application process at BLS

2023-01-18

Looking for a job can be a daunting task for some people, but with proper preparation and mindset, the process can be much less stressful. In order to stand out as a job seeker, it is essential to showcase your skill set in the most effective way possible. We would like to help you prepare for your job application here at Brandenburg Labs with the following step-by-step guide from start to finish.

First and foremost, it is vital to research about our company mission and values and the specific position you are interested in. This will help you tailor your resume and cover letter to the company and the job.

Tailoring your CV for the position

A competitive CV is one that stands out among other candidates. It is important to ensure your CV is up-to-date, well-organized, and includes relevant information about your qualifications and experience.

Here are some tips on how to create a competitive CV:

  1. Use a professional format and font to ensure your CV is easy to read.
  1. Tailor your CV for the position you are applying for and highlight the skills and qualifications that are most relevant to the job. If you are aiming to apply as a software engineer, you must highlight your transferable skills. These could include proficient knowledge of software development with C++ or Rust, a passion for audio technologies and acoustics, and a related university degree.
  1. Make sure your CV is up to date with your latest experience and qualifications.
  1. Your CV should be at most two pages long. So, make sure only to include the most relevant information.

Writing  your cover letter

A cover letter is an opportunity to introduce yourself to our Human Resources team. It is your chance to demonstrate why you are the best candidate for the position and how your skills and experience can add value to Brandenburg Labs. This also can help our team to get a first impression of who you are as a person. A well-written cover letter can even help our HR team address any concerns about your resume, such as employment gaps or lack of relevant experience. Hence, including a cover letter as part of your job application is essential if you want to maximize your chances of securing an interview. But what exactly should you include in your cover letter?

There are a few key things you should always include in order to make a good impression when writing a cover letter.

First, start with a brief introduction. Mention who you are and why you are interested in joining our team of audio enthusiasts. We would like to learn more about your motivation and interest in our joining our thriving startup.

Second, include any relevant skills or experience you have that make you a good fit for the job. Again, be specific and mention any relevant accomplishments.

Finally, briefly discuss your carrier goals with us moving forward, what professional goals you would like to achieve with us, and what values you can add to the team.

In addition to the above key points, make sure to include your contact information so we can get in touch with you.

Interview Preparation

If you are invited for an interview with us, this means we want to get to know you better on a deeper level and learn more about your skills and experiences. This is also a good opportunity for candidates to learn more about our company and ask questions about the job.

A great way to have an excellent first impression is to take some time before the interview to research our company, what we do, and our mission or values. This will not only help you better answer questions but will also give you a sense of whether or not you would be a good fit for the company and the other way around!

Some useful tips to help you stand out from other candidates are to be prepared, positive, and professional. A job interview with us is always a dialogue, never an interrogation. If you are interested in the opportunity, feel free to forward any questions you might have to the interviewers. It is also your one-time opportunity to find out if our company is a good match for you.

Our hiring process

Once candidates have been identified, the next step is to learn more about them to ensure they meet the job qualifications. This will mainly be done through interviews and reference checks. Once candidates have been interviewed, the next step is to select the best candidate for the job.

If we have found our “perfect match”, we make an offer to the selected candidate. Once the offer is made, the candidate may negotiate the terms of the offer.

The final step in the hiring process is to onboard the new employee. This process includes orienting the new employee to the company and the job and providing work equipment as well as a warm and friendly introduction to our working environment at our lovely collaborative office in Ilmenau, Germany.

Hence, when applying for jobs, be sure to include a cover letter along with additional documents such as certificates and reference letters. These important documents can help you stand out from the competition and increase your chances of landing an interview with us.

Our Junior Business Manager, Sami Murati shares his own personal experience with the hiring process.

From my personal experience, the job application process at BLS mirrors the company´s culture. A human-centered approach that is driven by commitment, collaboration, consultation, and affection. As a result, I felt comfortable right from the beginning of the hiring process. I was able to explain what I was looking for in a low-pressure and casual office setting. It didn’t feel like a superficial chat about what was on my resume, but the HR team put effort into getting to know who I was as a person through thoughtful questions and active listening.”

You can visit https://brandenburg-labs.com/jobs/ to see if our open positions align with your skills and qualifications. If that is not the case, we are also open to speculative applications. Once you have your documents compiled, email us at; .
