On 7 September 2026, Brandenburg Labs will be represented at ICCE Berlin by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Brandenburg. As part of the conference programme, he will give the keynote “50 Years of Digital Audio Technologies.”
Drawing on five decades of research and development, the keynote will look back at major milestones in digital audio and explore how the field has evolved over time. From early developments in audio coding to today’s immersive and personalized listening technologies, digital audio has undergone a remarkable transformation — one that continues to shape both research and industry.
For Brandenburg Labs, the event also reflects a strong connection between past and present. Much of the expertise behind our current work builds on decades of research in audio technology, while new developments such as Okeanos Pro continue this trajectory toward more lifelike, spatial and personal listening experiences.
We look forward to joining ICCE Berlin and contributing to the discussion on where digital audio technology has come from and where it is heading next.
