Okeanos Pro marks the debut of Brandenburg Labs’ state-of-the-art headphone-based Okeanos Systems, powered by the groundbreaking Deep Dive Audio (DDA) technology. Okeanos Pro is a system designed to simulate virtual multi-channel loudspeaker systems via headphones. Designed for audio professionals and institutions that demand precision and flexibility, it’s the ideal solution for research and innovation labs, audio engineers and producers, as well as universities and training programs focused on spatial audio.

Product Overview

The system accurately simulates virtual sound in a clearly localized and precise manner in the room and gives the plausible impression of hearing a real loudspeaker system. Create powerful spatial compositions, precisely place sounds in the sound field and listen to it on different speaker configurations without ever putting down your headphones. 

This astounding illusion is achieved by a novel combination of acoustic calibration and interactive, real time auralization. On first use, the product is calibrated to the acoustics of the listening space and reacts dynamically to the exact position and rotation of the user’s head Six Degrees of Freedom (6DoF). This allows important characteristics of real loudspeakers (such as their directivity) to be simulated and critical decisions to be made for the mix.

Compatible system Easy to Set Up

Use Okeanos Pro just like you would use a set of studio monitors and forget that you are wearing headphones! Thanks to ultra low latency Dante, Ravenna or AES67 connectivity, the system is ready to be integrated into your studio today. The reliable tracking system by HTC Vive fits easily to your favorite headphones, adding an entirely new dimension to them. 

Route up to 16 channels of audio to Okeanos Pro and receive two channels of highly immersive binaural audio back in as little as 10ms. All processing happens on the machine, saving precious processing power on your workstation. 

An easy-to-use Web User Interface (WebUI) allows you to control your system comfortably from your web browser. Create and switch between your custom configurations at the ease of a click, whether stereo, quadrophonic, 9.1.6 or your very personal custom setup. The intuitive 3D UI will help you to replicate your speaker setup or come up with something entirely new. 

Ready for orders, Okeanos Pro enables quick and easy mixing of multichannel content, without the need for costly and complex speaker installations.

With the new DTF feature, Okeanos Pro can more accurately represent the unique studio design of audio professionals, providing a more accurate simulation and enhanced immersion. Moreover, users benefit from the possibility to evaluate different loudspeakers virtually and simulate unique directivity patterns.

Brandenburg Labs’ new directivity transfer function offers a library of pre-made DTFs. Additionally, users are able to record and edit the DTF of a loudspeaker at six cardinal positions, i.e. front, back, left, right, top, and bottom. Points between the cardinal positions are interpolated at 10 degrees intervals, providing 360 degrees of coverage.
